Parents participate in the life of our school, and we depend on their support. Parents are encouraged to join our Shared Decision Making Team, Library Committee, or simply volunteer their time. Upon enrolling, parents are asked to complete a parent volunteer form, on which they may list the capacity in which they would like to participate in school activities. Our doors are always open for parental involvement. The Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District has a list of Parent workshops offered throughout the school year. Some workshops offer babysitting. These Parent Education Workshops are for all parents/guardians. The workshops consist of "Circle of Life", Computer classes for parents, Parent Institutes, Community Based English Tutoring, Parenting Workshops, Parent Conferences, Creative Ideas for Gift Giving, Lectura Para La Familia, Latino Family Literacy Project, Korean Parent Education Calendar, Goverance Decision Making Meetings, Policy Committee Meetings, Building Self-Esteem to Motivate your Child, Reglas de Oro, El Peleonero, Preservar Fiestas Y Raices Culturales, and Day of the Parent. These workshops are presented in English, Spanish and Korean. Babysitting services are available for some workshops. Please check the school district website at: nlmusd.org to get further information.
